Meet Julie!

Hi, I’m Julie—CPA, small business advocate, and founder of Julie Lopez CPA, LLC. With a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and a master’s from Post University (which I completed with distinction at the top of my class), I’ve built my career on helping small businesses thrive. I'm a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Connecticut, and I understand the ins and outs of both business and personal taxes—so you don’t have to.


I work directly with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and small business entities—partnerships, S corps, LLCs, sole proprietors—to simplify tax compliance and reduce stress. When you work with me, your taxes stay in order so you can focus on building the business you're passionate about. I also support individuals with personal income tax filings, offering down-to-earth guidance every step of the way.

When I'm not working, I spend time with time with my family. My husband, Steve, and I have been married over 20 years! We have three beautiful children, Jasmine, Zack and Emma, who keep us on our toes. I also enjoy knitting and gardening. This year, I am growing cucumbers, tomatoes, raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries! I have a dog named Larry, a cat named Penny, and 4 ducks named Sophie, Mabel, Dorothy, and Beatrice! Our house is rarely quiet!

Outside the office, life is beautifully full. My husband Steve and I have been married for over 20 years, and we’re raising three amazing kids—Jasmine, Zack, and Emma—who keep us laughing (and on our toes). I love gardening, knitting, and wrangling our lively household: Larry the dog, Penny the cat, plus a cheerful flock of ducks and chickens. Our backyard is home to tomatoes, sweet corn, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries—and probably a few weeds I haven’t pulled yet.
